We are happy to share with you the program of this year's celebration of Sant Jordi, our beloved Catalan tradition devoted to books and roses. The program curated by the Catalan Institute of America with the support of the Farragut Fund for Catalan Culture in the US will take place on Saturday April 21 but there are other events.

Tickets are on sale for Members at $10 and Non-members at $20. All tickets for kids are $10.

The (new) legend of Sant Jordi by Roser Bonet
A hungry dragon, a damsel in distress and a brave knight? In 2018 anything is possible! Come learn a new take on the legend of Sant Jordi (in Catalan).

Poetry recital by Maria Cabrera and Eloi Creus
Cabrera is an award winning poetess (Premi Carles Riba 2016 with La ciutat cansada). Creus is a translator, researcher and professor in training at Universitat de Barcelona. 

*Activities for kids*
Marta Guitart has prepared three activities that include writing, drawing and reading workshops inspired by a game created by surrealists in 1925 called Cadavre Exquis.

(de) CONSTRUINT CULTURES by dancer and choreographer Núria Martin Fandos
Work-in-progress that explores the ideas around the human effort and persistence in building a culture and, at the same time, the simplicity of the destruction of the same culture, society and tradition without considering Human Rights. 

Music Concert by Fresc
Roger Noguerol and Aaron Weiman deliver a fusion of Mediterranean popular music, latin beat and jazz elements.

Performance by Mezzo Soprano Anna Tonna and Dancer Elizabet Torras
Anna Tonna and Elisabet Torras join forces to tease their upcoming project for 2019, a musical storytelling of the myth of Sant Jordi through music, songs and dance. Tonna will perform highlights of their repertoire and Torras will do a demonstration of the Catalan dance Sardana with audience participation.
